Angkor Wat

We visited Angkor Wat on our second day in Cambodia (The first day we went to Beng Mealea, but that's a different post...).
So, we arrived at Angkor Wat at 4:45 to claim a spot to catch the sunrise.
Only problem was that the sun never really showed itself.
Thus, the 'sunrise' was very anticlimactic.
Oh well, we were there!

Angkor Wat 'sunrise'. (~6am)

We were not the only ones hoping for a gorgeous view of the sun rising over Angkor Wat...

Michael and his tripod are somewhere in the middle of all these people.
He has on a baby blue t-shirt and dark blue shorts.
Can you see him?

Yeah, me either!

A view from inside the temple.

There were multiple levels to Angkor Wat. This is about 2-3 levels up.

Our art. (It's an installation piece...)

Since we arrived at Angkor Wat so early to see the 'sunrise', we had to wait a bit before we could enter the temple on the very top levels. Never ones to idle away our free time, Michael and I occupied ourselves with the fine art of rock stacking. We're pretty proud of this masterpiece! I could go on and on about its fine compositional elements, but I'll just let you enjoy it for yourself. :o)
